Is It Legal to Break a Window to save a Dog in Arizona

I will only break the window if the animal is truly in need, and I would be grateful to someone who broke my window to save my dog when he was in need. I love my dog as much as I love my children. However, if my dog is not actually in distress when you break my window, you will have more problems than you want. Take care of your own stuff and stay away from me if it is not necessary. The 911 call is the first step in saving the life of this animal. Most states allow a security guard to break into the car and rescue an animal if its life is threatened. Why is everyone here arguing when, at the end of the day, we all want the same thing to make sure the animal is safe?.. Yes, I understand that it would be annoying if your window was broken while your dog is fine, and I agree that people should make sure the pet is in need before resorting to it, but at least there are people who care enough about animals to want to help. Jake, you sit in a car with a cracked three-inch window when it`s 84° for an hour or so, and you see how you feel. However, keep in mind that you can only cool off by whistling BUT FIRST: the person must check that the car is locked and call law enforcement or animal control. Only then would the person (from 9 August) have the necessary legal protection to break the glass and save the child or animal. During the legislature, it was discussed that the existing state law already provides some legal protection for a person to do whatever they need to do to save a child who dies in a hot car. States that don`t have these kinds of laws can give police or animal controllers the power to break windows without being punished, but many still require the animal rescuer — both police and civilians — to pay for any damage to the vehicle.

For example, New York has expanded its pet rescue law to include firefighters and emergency medicine professionals in its law that dismisses lawsuits for damage claims. First, it must be legalized in all 50 states to break a window to save a dog or dogs from hot or cold vehicles. And if a person breaks a window to help the animal, he should not have to pay anything. The ignorant person who left the animal in the car in the first place must pay for his own window. It`s as bad as leaving your child in a hot or cold car. People need to wake up. Just like those idiots walking their dog on a hot sidewalk. You walk on it barefoot and then see how you feel on your feet. Does breaking a window weigh a child who dies in a hot car? Most reasonable people would say “yes.” While 28 states have passed laws specifically banning dogs in hot cars, most good Samaritans prohibit taking steps to free a trapped dog. Only 11 states have given citizens the right to use any means necessary (yes, that includes breaking a window) to save a desperate dog.

I also never leave my dog in a very hot or cold vehicle. If it`s too hot (cold), I leave them at home, otherwise my sister and I travel with them and one of us stays with them in the vehicle in hot weather. If we get too hot or notice that they get too hot, we have the lines and dishes and we take them out of the car. In cold weather, since they both have short hair, we simply do not take a period from them. But for us, if this situation were to happen, I would be happy if someone saved my babies, just leave a note with your name and number so I can contact you. Break that window in a second to save EVERY living thing. Then tell the landlord, “Pay for the window OR get promoted throughout the city as a pet/child molester. What is it? I will call the police and the media here and now and drop the chips where they can. Just how I feel.

I had an event where my wife and I went to Walmart. It was cloudy when we left the car, so we rolled down the four windows a few inches. When we came back and had just put our groceries in the car, an animal control officer came and got out. I greeted him with a howl, and he went on to tell me that someone had called 911, that I had left my dog in the car and exposed him to possible distress. I opened the door and asked her if she looked distressed. He told me that if I hadn`t been in the car when he stopped, he would have broken my window, whether my dog was in distress or not. I thanked him for his advice and offered to shake his hand, which he coldly refused. They are the kind of arrogant officers who cause violence against the police. I noticed a young woman nearby watching and I told my wife, this is the one who unnecessarily imposed our rights by calling 911 in a non-threatening situation. I also checked and the state has no law to leave animals in your car without the car working.

Interestingly, Indiana allows citizens to rescue dying dogs from hot cars, but they are the only state that requires the person rescuing the dog to pay the owner or renter of the vehicle an amount equal to half the cost of damage caused by forced entry. (i.e. half the cost of replacing a broken window) However, in general, try not to leave your dog in the car. This could save both your car window and your pet`s life. Although animal cruelty, neglect, endangerment, and abuse in various forms are illegal to varying degrees in all 50 states, which can earn the author a simple citation up to and including a criminal complaint, only 28 of those states have laws that specifically prohibit leaving an animal locked in a hot car.
